Catch-up post

First, a few beach pictures from our most recent family beach trip. We had a nice time--Rudi and I took turns holding Samuel while the other one swam around in the water. Samuel was actually a little bit afraid of the waves this time. I wasn't letting the waves go over his head or anything--they weren't going higher than his legs. However, he did get over it with some coaxing and time. We will have to make sure we take him back to the beach frequently so he doesn't become afraid of the water!

I think this picture is precious! Look at Samuel's little legs & feet!

The obligatory self-photo--Samuel does not look amused.

Next is a picture of the bunch of bananas growing on the banana tree behind our house. This is the first bunch we have been able to collect from this tree--for some reason since we've moved in the tree has not been very fruitful (it produced one other bunch, but the landscapers cut it off before we could get to it). The tree is getting into shape now, though--there are 2 more bunches on the way.
We have learned that you are supposed to cut the whole bunch down once a few of the bananas start to ripen.  One of the nice landscapers cut the bunch off for us shortly after the picture was taken, and now the whole bunch is sitting on our kitchen counter. It seems like 5-10 more bananas become ripe every day from the bunch. I have already made some of them into baby food. Ok, that is enough about bananas--free food is always very exciting to me, though, and the thought of food growing in your backyard even more so! I guess I need to start a garden soon if I feel that way.

This next picture is of our new dining room table! Before this table, we didn't have one at all. We ordered the table from 'Tropical Living' back in September, and we expected to have the table arrive in November (from Bali--hence the delay). However, the shipping port (that our table was in) was shut down for a few months because apparently someone was trying to ship shells illegally. It is a longer story than that, and a huge headache for the store owner. Anyway, our table just arrived 2 weeks ago. We have been promising to have people over for dinner once our table arrives, but we have yet to do that!

This last picture is, of course, of Samuel. A neighbor took it with his super-fancy camera. I thought I'd share the picture since the quality is so much better than the pics we get with our camera.

The footprint picture is adorable, that is too cool about the banannas, and you look so good! It looks like you are even thinner than before you had Samuel! I hope you guys continue to enjoy all that Guam has to offer. A tropical beach is hard to come by back here in Indiana:).
